About Me

Born and raised in the rich culture of Haiti, Nickson Morin is a self-thought artist based in Hollywood, FL. From the first year of his career, the abstract artist participated at the 14th annual art competition in Pembroke Pines and chamber South Miami 47th Fine art festival from which he won two awards. His work “the pathway of self-revived” been published in P’AN KU Literary and art magazine. He also Participated in many group exhibitions at studio 18 and been to Art Beat Miami during art Basel week, for two consecutive years.

Nickson’s paintings are a manifestation of expressive geometric forms, symbols and colors highly influenced by ancient African cultures. He feels a special connection to the artworks from these specific eras and places because they help him connect with his origins; their influences directly shaped his own artistic expressions. He has also been exposed to architecture theory and design which challenged the way he analyzes his abstract paintings. Escorted by his inspiration, he creates forms, he adds symbols to express his reasoning and set colors based on his immediate emotions to have a complex dialogue within the work.
